Shop andShare.ca is a unique, online shopping experience that benefits customers and non- profit groups alike. Shop and Share.ca was created by Richelle Skrilec - busy wife and mother of two school-aged children. She started Shop and Share.ca because she was tired of spending count-less hours trying to help raise funds for the local schools and sports programs and she knew there had to be a better way. She knew that people were tired of going door-to-door or calling friends and family to purchase items no one really wanted. She knew that volunteer time was valuable and she was determined to create an easy fundraiser that every Canadian non-profit group could use. And, she wanted to create an ongoing fundraiser that would bring much-needed funds to non-profit and charity groups year-round.
Richelle's entrepreneurial spirit and years of business management experience helped her turn her idea into a reality and Shop and Share.ca was finally launched in the summer of 2009. Her time spent sourcing quality suppliers paid off too - Shop and Share.ca currently has over 100,000 top-quality products and services available for purchase, not to mention a few free items as well!
Our customers are able to purchase items they already know and love, as well as new products they may never heard of or had the chance to try. Plus, they can buy everything at the same prices they'd find anywhere else - no mark-ups, no premiums, no memberships!
Best of all, our customers choose which non-profit or charity groups they want to support and each purchase generates an automatic donation. In some cases, a full 10% of each item purchased is donated to whichever organization the customer chooses. The hardest part for the charities is deciding how to spend the money! There are no volunteer hours needed, no stuffing envelopes or going door-to-door, and all the tracking and reporting is done by us.
Shop and Share.ca is currently available all across Canada (in English), with plans of launching a French site next year. We are constantly adding to our product listings, as well as our list of non-profit and charity recipient groups.
